Cardboard Kids are displayed throughout the community at workplaces, local businesses, community organizations, schools and in windows of homes. Each participant of the campaign does their part in spreading the word.

San Antonio & Bexar Co continue to have the highest rate of confirmed child abuse cases of all major metropolitan areas in Texas. Cardboard Kids start an important conversation about what each of us can do to help prevent the tragedy of child abuse and neglect in our community.

For the first time, 4 vendors from the The Market at Shavano Park will be joining us. Free lunch will be served. Free E-waste and paper shredding and free compost pickup will be available to all residents. Too many exciting activities and services to list them all!.

Shavano Park is having a City-Wide Garage Sale on Sat, March 16 from 8AM– 5PM. All residents can participate! There is no permit required for this one-day. To participate and have your address published on a map distributed to the public, visit

Citizens may drop off unwanted, unused, or expired prescription and/or over-the-counter medications during normal business hours. The Shavano Park Police Department will continue to host the DEA National Take-Back Day event twice yearly.

Prescription drug abuse is a community health threat, especially among our teenage population. To help decrease the supply of diverted prescription drugs, the Police Department has developed a convenient and environmentally responsible prescription drug disposal program.

The Shavano Park Police Department is excited to announce that the public can now drop off unwanted medications in a disposal receptacle in our lobby at City Hall (900 Saddletree Court) any time during normal business hours (8AM to 5PM, closed weekends and City Holidays).

Also attending is Google Fiber. Its a great opportunity to ask Google Fiber on their plans to bring fiber internet to homes in Shavano Park starting in 2024!.

Residents - Snow is coming to town! Snow and Santa will be at City Hall during the Saturday, Dec 2nd, Holiday Winter Festival from 3PM to 6PM! Come enjoy a magic show, get Santa photos, free hot cocoa, cookie contest and many other family fun activities.

Collections will be accepted starting Monday through December 7th in the City Hall foyer between 8am-5p.m. Just bring a new and unwrapped toy to city hall, look for the drop off boxes in the foyer, and place your donated item in the box.

Beginning Monday, November 6th, the City of Shavano Park City Hall will proudly be accepting toy donations as a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Toys 4 Tots collection location!
