A true frustrating Sale performance. A strong lead at half time, ended up behind, took the lead again and then game management cost us at the end. Annoying, but hopefully itβs the sort of result that they can develop from. Result aside I thought it was a fun game to watch. TM

Tony Bond, of Sale & England fame, has died at 72. His name had been etched in gold at Rugby's Pantheon ever since his 2 tries enabled a Northern XV packed with Lancashire players beat Graham Mourie's All Blacks 21-9 at Otley in 1979. My condolences to Tony's family and friends.

Obviously good news for the Tigers game but, as we discussed on this weekβs pod, this was one of the elements that took the game away from us completely. Not sure there is a solution but nonetheless immensely frustrating for Sale fans, and a bit embarrassing for the league. AO

Very much a game of two halves last night. First half there was clearly a lot of rustiness for guys who have basically had no pre-season, timings were slightly out. Second half, our fluency came and we looked a lot better, bringing home a bonus point win. TM
