Hugest thanks for your kind words over the past few days. I've loved hearing your memories of visiting Toy Shops at Christmas and of your favourite stuffed animals. It's so special to have so many people connect to a drawing and I'm really grateful to hear your stories.

Well, the news is well and truly out there, I did indeed do a wee drawing for the RTÉ Guide✨ I'm impatiently awaiting its arrival and am very excited to see it in real life. It was a joy to work on and brought so much Christmas wonder and magic as the days got shorter. 💛

Have I mostly abandoned this account? Yes. However, the deadline to vote in the Irish Book Awards is almost upon us and I would so appreciate you heading over to vote for "Over the Red Brick Chimney." Voting closes tomorrow so this is your last chance to be kind and lovely💛

We spent the other morning waiting for some sunshine to take these and then the sunshine arrived and I could not see a thing. Anyway, here’s the obligatory selfie with new picture-book post 📖📕 “Over the Red-Brick Chimney” is out now in places where you buy books! 📚

Just a little while until Little Goose here is on the shelves and she's looking forward to meeting you all! She's a barnacle goose and will be heading off on her first flight from Greenland as she migrates with her family over to Ireland.

Just because you have an eel pass does not necessarily mean you are facilitating #eel passage: Meelick Weir on the River Shannon, June 2024. Four eel passes were eventually installed on the weir to meet a planning condition that I advocated for. In my previous post, I showed that

I have set up a GoFudme page to raise €5,000 to get Michael an electric wheelchair. Any remaining funds will go towards paying off the loan he and his wife had to take out for home adaptations. Please donate whatever you can afford. https://t.co/TiWfGez8Ns
This makes my blood boil. Michael is a survivor of institutional abuse at Letterfrack industrial school – to which he was sent at 14 years of age – he suffers ongoing post-traumatic stress, depression and anxiety. How much would this wheelchair cost? https://t.co/dDftWfnxyH

Some day we'll play under those lights. I love the murals and alley down to Richmond, the floodlight coming up from beneath street level. A wonderful place on your doorstep I've been tweaking this forever, but I think I'm done, something for the @stpatsfc fan in your life! 🔴⚪️
