As a @Hertz Presidential Circle member, Iām speechless. Had a 12pm reservation in Mokena, IL. Arrived at 11:58ādoors locked. Agent refused to honor my booking, said she doesnāt get OT. Told us to drive 45 miles to the airport. Unacceptable. #Hertz #CustomerServiceFail.

Alabamaās oldest incarcerated person just died at 106. Itās hard to fathom why someone over a century old needed to live out their final days in custody. At some point, punishment must make room for compassion. These extreme sentences have to give.

The Illinois Constitution aims to restore individuals to useful citizenship. HB 2367 supports this by allowing those in custody to earn sentence reductions through education, work, and programmingāhelping them successfully reintegrate into society. Urge your lawmakers to support.

When prisons prioritize humane treatment, safety improves for everyoneāboth those incarcerated & the staff who work there. A secure, rehabilitative environment means fewer conflicts, less trauma, & a smoother transition homeāfor returning citizens & officers who arenāt seen as.
As the folks at the @SaferPrisons campaign have been warning, things seem to be coming to a head in prisons around the country. Yesterday, correctional officers in New York began an illegal strike. .
