Galacticoaster is now open @LEGOLANDFlorida I had a chance to preview the “out of this world coaster” before the official opening.

I would say this is a step up in quality and thrill for the Legoland Resort. Overall a well executed experience.

It was impressive that at the start of the ride you see the spaceship show up on a mirror screen without tapping the band anywhere on the coaster. Maybe the 2nd makes sure the computer gets the signal?

I don’t have super strong opinions about the building a spaceship part of the experience. I was a little confused because they grouped you into 4 people and gave 2 party members RFID wristbands. But each group of 4 only gets 1 spaceship.

So despite not really being advertised as one this is a controlled spinning coaster. Think of it as Cosmic Rewind, but for a little younger audience. That is why I am forgiving of the shorter length, but it is not so short that I felt annoyed.

This is an absolute home run from the folks at Merlin Entertainments. The theming on the ride matches (and in some way surpasses) that of other space themed coasters in Orlando. I’ll talk a little on age appropriateness below, but anyone with kid 7-12 should visit.

Last time we saw the franchise @HorrorNightsORL was well over a decade ago. I think it’s well overdue we see the franchise again since the game series is experiencing a renaissance.

Universal says the new venue will be built from scratch. In the non-cropped art you can see the IOA lighthouse and hard rock in the back. There is a grass area in between the plane and stage to put this new venue.
