The work our officers brings me joy. I’m so proud of Officer Jones (who was a recruit when I was a Sgt at the academy) and appreciate the American Legion for supporting these recognition efforts. @AmericanLegion.
We’re proud to honor Officer Joshua Jones with the Q1 Community Service Officer Award for going above and beyond. On Jan. 15, he helped an elderly man in need—personally buying groceries & connecting him with care. Thank you, Officer Jones! 👏 . #IMPD #Service

One kid asked me today, “Did you ride your bike to school too?” My answer was, “Yes I did.” . Days like this are stark reminders of why I do this job.
🚴♀️👮♀️ Riding to School in Style! 👮♀️🚴♂️. North District & Community Engagement officers rolled out for National Bike to School Day!. We safely escorted over 150 students to school—and had a blast doing it!. Next stop: School 55 this Friday!. #BikeToSchoolDay #PedalPower #WeAreNorth

So proud to have officers like Officer Miles on North District and on IMPD. Police work is not just about protecting and catching criminals…it is most certainly also about service. Great job, Officer Miles!.
Congrats to Officer Matthew Miles—IMPD North District’s 1st-ever Quarterly Community Service Officer Award recipient! From calming a child in crisis to helping a disabled motorist, his compassion & leadership shine. Indy is proud!.

I am so grateful for the control operators, dispatchers, and supervisors who do so much behind the scenes to help our officers do their job and work to keep them safe.
This National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, Chief Bailey stopped by to personally thank some of our amazing dispatchers—the calm, steady voice on the line when you need help most. Thank you for being the true first responders behind the scenes. 📞

I didn’t realize how much fun I would have playing beep baseball. The players, coach, supporters, and umpire were all great. I hope we can play again next year.
We had a great time today playing the Indy Thunder. We lost but had a blast the whole time. What an exciting new community collaboration. #BeepBaseball

Practicing for beep baseball has be interesting and fun. I’m looking forward to playing the game and seeing if we are able to score. I didn’t say “win”…just score.
We are looking forward to playing the Indy Thunder in Beep Baseball on April 12 at Broad Ripple Park. Come out and show your support for IMPD North District, Indy Thunder Beep Baseball, or better…BOTH!. #BeepBaseball @broadrippleindy

“He’s been a drain on our criminal justice system and we’re happy he’s off the streets of Indianapolis today,” said IMPD Capt. Shane Foley. I’m so proud of the work our officers and detectives did to get charges on this guy and get him in custody.
"It's been a frustration for our officers”.Accused serial thief is arrested for the 34th time!! following a series of recent theft cases. The suspect was (unsurprisingly) on probation for prior theft convictions at the time of the new crimes.

Proud of the work done by North District officers/detectives and other investigative units. The community was essential in solving these cases.
** IMPD North District Assists with Arresting Two Juveniles for Violent Crimes Involving Firearms**. Detectives arrest a 14-year-old and 16-year-old for their alleged roles, separately, in a shooting and armed robbery.

Jerome Barker is an incredible officer, incredible SWAT officer, and incredible man. I’m so proud to serve with him on IMPD. We are in the constant search for the next Officer Barker. Visit to join our team.
Growing up as one of seven children on Indy’s northeast side, Officer Jerome Barker faced many challenges, including seeing firsthand the impact of violence. But instead of letting it define him, he chose to make a difference. Watch his story here->
