This year’s #16DaysOfActivism theme is clear: “UNiTE to End Violence Against Women and Girls in All Spaces, Including Digital Spaces.” The same phone that can be used to harass, deepfake or body-shame a girl can become the most powerful weapon we have ever had to #ZeroHunger.

We are no longer just telling people to grow food at home. At our training center @HungaCentre, we have setup a back yard garden as a teaching ground on how different households can utilize space and have a backyard garden to help them get food daily to boost their nutrition.

We're preparing a backyard garden. They're the biggest weapon we have against hunger, against the lie that young people must wait for someone to save them. If every household had these small gardens of greens, seasonal hunger would be a story we tell children about the old days.

We've empowered households to advance girls education and rights, but the online world must be part of that safe haven. Imagine digital spaces where girls can explore, innovate and connect without fear free from trolls, blackmail or exploitation that spills into offline harm.

As the last generation to witness the internet's explosive growth from dial-up connections to a world where billions are online we hold a unique RESPONSIBILITY. In a landscape riddled with online harassment and #GBV, it's time to unlearn the apathy and rebuild with intention.

We've seen how this digital revolution has connected us, empowered voices and opened doors to knowledge and opportunity. Yet, why haven't we fully realized safe, inclusive internet spaces for everyone, especially women and girls? #16DaysOfActivism
