A federal rule released last night rolls back protections for transgender people and sets a dangerous precedent that could jeopardize children's health in other ways, all in the midst of a global pandemic. We oppose the rule. Pediatricians care for all children.

Both the timing and the substance of this federal action are wrong and will cause harm. Preventing discrimination in healthcare against transgender patients is the obligation of every healthcare professional.
