How do you evaluate algorithms in an explainable way? . We are using #IRT to evaluate algorithms. This is work with Kate Smith-Miles @OPTIMA_ARC. R package airt is on CRAN with recently updated with plotting functions. #rstats.
In a study published in @JmlrOrg, researchers incl. Data61's @Sevvandik used Item Response Theory to test a portfolio of algorithms. The results are a report card for data scientists to use to shortlist the best algorithms for the job. Paper:
