In the last year I've given talks on my research in ten countries (US, Mexico, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, England, Scotland, South Korea, India, Nepal). And more importantly, I've been able to meet and talk with physicists from all of these places and beyond.

I've never understood people who don't at least look through the arXiv every day. How could you deal with the FOMO???.

What luck to learn this afternoon the RISD museum is open Thursday evenings---and free!.

So much so that I'll have to try to get other places to set up such an arrangement for future seminar trips.

Absolutely fantastic experience arriving at Brown a day early to give an informal background lecture and chat with @stephstem's great group of intellectually curious grad students.

As of today I have given seminars in a third of the US states.

I am so bullish on using machine learning for model building that I have spent a large part of the last nine years training my own neural network on the corpus of particle physics literature.

It is good for you, as a human, to participate in human society.

Everything has been going rather anomalously well for me of late.

I mean to get some such fossil reproductions for my apartment, but they're so expensive.

My one complaint is that the wall of hominin skulls did not have a hole you could put your head through to take a family picture. But I could partially recreate the effect with the reflection off the opposite display.
