Hambley settlement is far from Ottawa County's only unplanned cost in 2023.

The battle over the funding of the Ottawa County Health Department took an unexpected turn Wednesday as the embattled health officer announced the budget process was moving forward — without her or her staff's input.
Hambley made new filings Wednesday asking the circuit court judge overseeing the case to allow the complaint to be amended — both are claims that the board violated Michigan's Open Meetings Act.
