From multiple hour call wait times to useless robo-messages and hard to get office appointments, the consequences of the Trump administration's cuts to Social Security are real and devastating.   Listen to some beneficiaries’ stories: https://t.co/TvmQGvP1ur

Millions of seniors and disabled people call Social Security’s 1-800 number every month. What they experience is often maddening.

That's right — if Congress doesn't extend enhanced ACA tax credits, small business owners may not have the money to sustain their business or even pay for their own health insurance. Hear from @SenatorWarnock and @MCuban:

Dr. Lambrew is right— Affordable Care Act tax credits work. They help millions of Americans get lifesaving health care, and we can’t afford to let them expire.

Johnson: What you said is going back to the original design of Obamacare is going to be a calamity? Lambrew: Going back to 1965 practices for medicine would also be calamity. We figured out something that worked and it should be extended and people have been helped by it

Medicaid cuts aren't just unpopular—they're life-threatening.   A 2025 study found that Medicaid coverage reduces the risk of death by 21%. The Trump administration's $1 trillion in cuts will push Americans off the rolls and cost lives.

90 years ago, we made a promise to take care of seniors by establishing Social Security. But now, President Trump has turned this promise into a political bargaining chip.   Social Security helps almost 70 million Americans make ends meet. We must protect it.

60 years ago, the creation of Medicare and Medicaid conveyed a powerful message: that one's access to health care should not depend on their financial situation.   These vital programs revolutionized care, and they continue to be a lifeline for seniors and low-income Americans.

35 years ago today, the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act made our country more accessible, inclusive, and equitable.   But while the ADA broke down barriers and changed lives, there is still more work to be done. I’m committed to building a truly inclusive America.

Last year, seniors lost a record $4.8 billion to scammers.   But instead of bolstering the agencies responsible for protecting consumers, the Trump administration is gutting those very entities. That's why I'm demanding answers about how @POTUS plans to combat frauds and scams.

The Trump administration must explain why it's cutting the Social Security services that so many Americans rely on. I won’t stop demanding accountability until Americans get the transparency they deserve.

The OAA supports programs that provide nutrition assistance, meal and transportation services, caregiver support, disease prevention services, and long-term care.   We owe it to seniors to continue funding these programs. That's why I'm leading the charge to reauthorize the OAA.

It was great speaking with New Yorkers about the importance of Social Security and caregiving at this morning's @AARP NY tele-town hall.   Rest assured that I will never stop fighting to support caregivers and seniors in New York and beyond.

Social Security saves lives - but don't take my word for it.   Read what one concerned constituent told me about how disruptions to the Social Security system are impacting their grandmother.
