Eye-opening testimony last week during our Senate hearing on early treatments for
#COVID19
.
There is a real disconnect between Ivory Tower academic medical professionals and those in trenches treating sick and dying patients.
@SenRonJohnson
Dr. Ashish Jha was the only normal witness you had. In the other cases, you went out of your way to look for contrarians and freaks for the sake of it.
@SenRonJohnson
Huge disconnect. Why do they not want to give people the choice to have early treatment? Why isnβt the CDC advising everyone to take preventative measures?
Today was a very, very odd day
I testified before
@senatehomeland
They held a hearing on hydroxychloroquine.
Yup, HCQ
In the middle of the worst surge of pandemic
HCQ
It was clear how our information architecture shapes questions of science and medicine of COVID
A thread
@SenRonJohnson
There is a real disconnect between Ivory Tower Senators who want to protect corporations from liability and those in the trenches trying to put food on the table and pay the rent.
@SenRonJohnson
Yes! The risk of elongated Q-T interval goes away when the medication is discontinued. This is the only risk I have heard of when taking hydroxychloroquin with an antibiotic, itβs the reason given for not using this cocktail for COVID.
