Christopher spent his whole life building businesses across the world. He then decided to open a sizable community mall in his quiet neighborhood while enjoying his retirement. To do that, he needed to pool together his funds from various countries. A 🧡. #WWF .@scribble_dao

In Across V4, settlement is done instantly using ZK proofs, courtesy of @SuccinctLabs. This way, relayers are not only paid instantly but @AcrossProtocol can expand and accommodate more chains.

What differs V3 from V4, one might ask. In the third step of the Intent Infrastructure, settlement used to be done based on timelocks and manual verification. Funds were not released to the Relayers immediately, not until it was confirmed.

The problems included:. ➠ Slow settlement based on timelock. ➠ Heavy reliance on bonding and manual trust mechanisms. ➠ Traditional means of verification . ➠ Operational inefficiencies and higher costs. The need for a more streamlined system birthed Across V4.

Once verified, it closes the loop by releasing funds to repay the relayer trustlessly. Across V3 was functional but had a few limitations.

and earn a fee for speed and execution. βž™ A settlement layer:. This layer safeguards the user's input funds, performs verification, and repays relayers upon successful completion of the intent. It acts as the final checkpoint, ensuring everything went as expected on chain.

and present it to the user to accept. βž™ A Competitive Network of Relayers:. Immediately after the user accepts the quote, the funds need to be moved. Relayers then post the bridge transaction to the destination chain, provide capital to the user (before liquidity arrives),.

The Architecture of Across V3 is based on 3 major steps:. βž™ The Request for Quote mechanism (RFQ):. This is the first step where the user gives an intent. Solvers see the user’s request, speculate possible execution paths, compete to offer the best quote,.

What are Intents? . They are messages or commands that state what the user wants to do rather than how it should be done. Users are only concerned with the end results, not the process. All they have to do is make their intentions known through an intent. Get it?

It's a pioneer interoperability initiative powered by Intents, paving the way for a user centered and trustless ecosystem. @AcrossProtocol is built by @RiskLabsFDN, the same core team behind @UMAprotocol. Why Across Protocol? . Three words:. Fast. Secure. Affordable.

It's 2025, don't you think we should be past it already? . Users should be enjoying interoperability as well as secure transactions. That's where @AcrossProtocol comes in, a cross-chain bridge that allows users to move assets quickly, securely and cheaply between blockchains.

In 2022, over $2 billion was lost to hacks alone according to industry reports. Nobody factored in the loss from the user's end due to scams, user mistakes, slippage fees, liquidity fragmentation, and bad UX/UI. We haven't even talked about how time consuming the process is.

What a way to treat a man who spent decades contributing to the global economy. That's exactly what cross-chain bridging feels like, causing liquidity fragmentation. Every chain is like a different country. Your assets are scattered, and need costly bridges to connect them.

That shouldn't be a problem, right?. But it is. He had to go through various processes, time frames, delays, paperwork, and fees here and there. Different countries, different rules. At the end of the day, a great portion of what he worked his life for had gone.
