As of yesterday, the amount from EUR stablecoin transactions on @gnosischain was greater than that of USD, with 19M EUR and 18M USD.

There has been a bump in the amount of EUR stablecoin transactions on EVM chains in the past weeks. Going from 755M EUR on the 23rd to 12B on the 30th of December, 2024. With most of the volume being on Base.

Over the last year, Starknet stands out for its declining success rate, while Polygon zkEVM shows a more moderate but noticeable drop. Linea, Scroll, and ZKSync Era have maintained stable performance.

Comparing the fees from Oct. 2023 and Sep. 2024, Linea managed to reduce their fees by -1280%, Polygon zkEVM by -373%, Scroll by -883%, Starknet by -4533%, and ZKsync Era by -907%. The pct. under the fees shows the changes in fee cost based on the previous month's median.

A major improvement to the rollup infrastructure was the EIP-4844 upgrade on Mar. 13. 2024 contributing to lower transaction fees. Shortly after, the upgrade was live on Linea on Mar. 26. 2024, Scroll on Apr. 29. 2024, Starknet on Mar. 13. 2024, and ZKsync Era on Mar. 13. 2024.

The count of transactions, peaked in the first half of 2024, followed by a gradual decrease. Despite this, ZKSync Era and Linea remained strong performers. Scroll had a smaller count after its launch but quickly caught up and has seen consistent growth since Mar. 2024.

By the end of Q3 2024, Loopring had under 2% of the total TVL market. Even though ZKsync Era is at 24% it managed to increase its TVL from $472M to $954M, whereas Linea from $80M to $815M, and Scroll $27M to over $1B.

In Oct. 2023, the zk-rollup landscape was largely dominated by the ZKsync Era network, with 53% followed by Starknet at 16% and Loopring at 11%. Scroll, a new entrant, successfully launched its mainnet and achieved a TVL of $27.5M by the end of the month with a 3%.

Looking at the TVL, it is important to remember that the USD value of assets locked on the rollups is correlated with the estimated market prices, which naturally fluctuate. By the end of Nov. 2023, the collective TVL of zk-rollups had reached $1B and $4B by Jun. 2024.

Based on the values from Oct. 2023 and Sep. 2024, the TVL on rollups experienced an exponential growth of 34%, from $12B to $37B. Optimistic rollups saw a collective TVL increase by 35% from $12B to $33B and zk-rollups by 23% from $890M to $4B.
