It's also so great because it represents opportunity! Your plot will define your setting, the levels, the setpieces! There was a level in one Call of Dutiy game where your character breaks their arm and can only use handguns - those kinds of setups are what gamedevs dream about.

Writing the plot for a video game is the fun part for me. Even if it's not a complex story, finding ways for things to unravel satisfyingly is so much fun! Maybe it's from a lifetime of watching kids cartoons, but I think I'm really good at that particular kind of storytelling.
