Finally, Patrick believes that #bitcoin will allow the pure essence of sport to emerge more than ever before. How will satsflow, or what he calls 'proof of fan' - a direct financial relationship b/w players & fans - influence the game? He & @PerthHeat are determined to find out.

Extrapolated to the American professional sports market, Patrick says, that’s equivalent to ~$300 million, just waiting to be accessed (and this is just the beginning).

The ability to send sats to players directly in real-time (‘sats4stats’) begins to change this, while also greatly enriching the experience for everyone involved. Having been implemented just this past November, players have already realised a ~2% increase in total compensation.

Patrick sees sports as ‘low time-preference behaviour in action’, which both inspires and entertains. But, he says, ‘sports have been co-opted by the fiat mindset’, as the spectator experience is polluted with relentless ads, and the benefits of sports thereby diminished.
