With the Frozen Four back in St. Louis, went back 50 years to write about Michigan Tech's last national championship, a win over Minnesota. Come for the history, stay for the Bruce Abbey stories and quotes. He liked hitting people.

White Sox fans will always remember "over the head of Jenks," as the final out of the 2005 World Series played out before their wide eyes and deep inhales. Bobby Jenks delivered the final out White Sox fans waited an eternity for.

It's hot. May you all be as cool as this man living his best life along Lake Michigan in this 1999 photo from the Chicago Tribune.

Going through old stuff and found this gem when Michael Jordan retired. A new line of Da Pressed sportswear would sell well in Chicago right now.

20 years ago today, Brandon McCarthy made his MLB debut vs. Mark Prior. McCarthy looked up to Prior, starting an email chain with him years previous. He sent Prior one before the start, saying he knew he couldn't ask for advice this time. Prior said, "I didn't email him back."

Never imagined I'd be texting my uncles, "Do . you know the Pope?" But one responded with this picture from his 1971 Mendel High School yearbook of Pope Leo XIV's mom, who was a librarian there from 1969-1975.

Catholic school students will no longer have to memorize the Act of Contrition, but instead show true contrition and recite every Chicago Bears starting quarterback since Jim McMahon.

Chicago waits for blue or black smoke to be released from the Sears Tower to clarify if the Pope is a White Sox or Cubs fan. Regardless, either fandom is proof he's aware of what hell is. God won't be able to save him if he claims he's a fan of both.

April 30, 2015, was the last time the Chicago Bulls won a playoff series. To add to the misery for Chicago fans on this page: Hawks won the Stanley Cup during this run, but have won one playoff series since (a qualifying round during COVID) and the Bears drafting Kevin White.

Chicago Tribune sports cover nine years ago today. Kyle Schwarber was 23 years old when he suffered a full tear to his ACL and LCL in his left knee three games into the 2016 season. He had played 71 MLB games and had 16 HRs for his career. Now, he's 32 and 11 HRs away from 300.
