Feels like I’m beating a dead horse here, but who cares about the division. This team’s chances increase substantially with a bye into the ALDS, allowing Skubal to start Game 1. To the point where I don’t view them as nearly the same caliber contender if they have to play the WC.

I don’t see what the urgency would be. Especially if he said he still plans on playing. They have more important pieces to lock up first. They’ve already given Alex multiple deals.

Not to mention you will have crossed out your biggest division game week 1 and you could then be 2-0 in the division the following week in a game the Lions will be a clear favorite in. They are definitely behind the 8-ball though with a GB loss & at that point with the 3 games.

The Packers opener is one of the Lions biggest season openers in a long time. Feels like a lot genuinely rides on that game. You can then win home games against Chicago & Cleveland to get off to a 3-1 start at worst. An L and you’re 0-1 with Baltimore, Cincinnati & KC on deck.

The only positive to this horrendous Tigers run is I’ve always thought no matter what our playoff hopes rely entirely on Skubal being amazing every start (even won yesterday in the peak of this incompetent run). If he’s great in October we have a chance.

This is a big week for the Tigers. I’m not going to look that much into a Skenes start, but really no excuse not to pop this horrendous Pirates team the next 2 days. Toronto series is the biggest of the year after that. Poop the bed in both & im pulling back on my expectations.

Almost 80 pitches after 3 to the worst offense in baseball. Game probably already over. The Pirates have lost 11 of 12 and were just swept by the White Sox. Jack Flaherty is officially a big, big problem. Don’t like the body language at all, either.

2 on and no outs and didn't even come close to scoring. I get it's Skenes, but this is happening a lot lately. We are entering "not just a slump" territory for the Tigers offense. The approaches are totally broken. This is ugly.
