OBVIOUSLY we should be concerned about people’s very real economic fears. Yet to act as if those fears are isolated from people’s consideration of social status and RACE is just bonkers. Bananas.

They went twice in person to try to rectify the issue in person at the elections office, and the power was out so they were closed 🤦🏾‍♀️ Whether incompetence or suppression, it’s disenfranchisement either way. 😡6/end

But no matter, no one CALLED or reached out to say we aren’t going to register you/we are cancelling your registration THAT YOU JUST ASKED FOR. Had they not followed up to check, they would have never known they weren’t registered.5/

Even if they hadn’t voted before, and were previously removed from the rolls, the fact that they are now BACK in person to re-register with proof of address etc, shows that they’re interested in voting in GA again. 4/

The election folks retrieved their old voter info with their name, ssn etc to match with their old registration, determined they hadn’t voted, canceled the registration. ?!?!?! Again, this person just moved back, as evidenced by new drivers license. 3/

When they spoke to someone, they said they had CANCELLED her registration because they hadn’t voted in a while. Wtf?! Mind you, they haven’t lived in GA in years. They are just now re-registering. 2/

Voter suppression is real. A family member moved back to GA. They registered to vote when they got their new license. After a while, they realized they hadn’t received anything in the mail, and called to inquire where her voter registration card was 1/
