I don’t blame the artists, they put their hearts into it as all artists do. I blame the studios who will use this success to continue putting their money towards anything that secures a profit, rather than taking chances on brilliant new artists with original stories to tell

Speaking of bad sequels to amazing films… Moana 2: A clearly re-edited Disney+ series. This movie maintained some of the charm of the first movie but added nothing new to the incredible world built in the first. The music didn’t stick, the story didn’t wake up until the last act

Next is Gladiator 2: A half baked retelling of a previously loved story from twenty years ago disguised as a sequel. The performances were great, but the script lacked any originality resulting in a bland, disappointing film. We will see many more bad sequels to amazing movies

The most successful film this season, Wicked: a fabulous movie adaptation of the stage musical. However, it’s just a cinematic retelling of a previously loved story split into 2 parts to maximize profits. Films will continue to take from established IP and split them up
