Does this look familiar? 👀A bit of Seattle history is coming back to life in Belltown! The installation of the salvaged sign bridge from the Alaskan Way Viaduct is underway on the improved Bell St near the Western Ave intersection. Installation will continue over the weekend.

EB I-90 TUNNEL FRI NIGHT LANE CLOSURES 🚨 At 11p tonight (2/27), two left lanes of eastbound I-90 will CLOSE from just south of Rainier Ave S to the east portal of the Mount Baker Tunnel for maintenance. All lanes reopen at 7a Saturday (2/28). Expect delays @seattledot.

NORTHBOUND SR 99/AURORA BRIDGE CLOSURE ☕️ On Sunday, March 1, all lanes of NB SR 99 and one left lane of SB SR 99 will CLOSE between Harrison and N 50th from 6a-11a for the Hot Chocolate Run in downtown Seattle. Expect delays @seattledot

TONIGHT (2/26): One left lane of northbound I-5 will CLOSE between Olive Way and @wsdot_520 10p to 4a Friday (2/27) for guardrail work. This lane closure is just south of the Ship Canal Bridge, where two right lanes remain closed for construction. Expect delays @seattledot

Building this missing piece to the city’s bike network wasn’t simple. The historic nature of Pioneer Square and the age of the infrastructure made adding modern bike and signal improvements complicated, requiring careful design and coordination.

This project fills a gap in the City Center Bike Network & creates a much-anticipated, safer connection between Pioneer Square, downtown, and the waterfront. Construction began this week with underground work, & more visible changes on the street will follow in the coming weeks.

It’s happening! Yesler Way is getting a new protected bike lane from Occidental Ave S to the waterfront.

Seattle’s soon-to-be first roundabout on an arterial street gets its first curb ramp concrete pour! It’s part of our project to help connect you to the new Pinehurst light rail station when it opens later this year.

Additionally, Alaskan Way between the Elliott Way intersection and Virginia St will be intermittently reduced to one lane for alternating traffic during work hours, Monday – Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

To support the safety of all Waterfront Park users, people biking and scooting are asked to dismount their bikes and scooters when traveling through the park or use Alaskan Way to continue their travels.

This work requires a 24/7 closure of the bike lane between the Alaskan Way and Elliott Way intersection and Virginia St for approximately 2 weeks.

To improve access for those biking or scooting on the waterfront, we will be fixing puddles in this area of the bike lane which has come to our attention since this segment was opened.

A message from the Seattle Waterfront: A segment of the waterfront bike lane will be closed near Pier 62 as early as February 25.
