Boeier's Journey: Boeier (Diergaarde Blijdorp / Rotterdam Zoo) is swimming along the coast adjacent to Matagorda Island, and across the barrier island from San Antonio Bay. Over the past 8 days Boeier has swam ~350 miles from her release site.

exploring. In our experience, turtles will often turn into each bay to "take a look" and then back out as they head south. The will often do this at every major pass. Like and follow our page to stay on top of this turtle's movement.

I can't help but think that the tropical system (Rafael) moving into the Gulf of Mexico may have influence her movement southwest. It will be interesting to see where she goes next as Rafael is now headed to her south (perhaps).

Boeier's Journey: Yesterday Boeier, the Dutch Kemp's Ridley (Diergaarde Blijdorp / Rotterdam Zoo) moved down Galveston Island. Since then she spend a few hours at San Luis Pass, and has moved further southwest to Follett's Island. As of this morning Boeier is approaching Surfside

The red dot with the white outline is Boeier's current location. We will be updating Boeier's location until either the tag fails, battery dies, or Boeier knocks it off, which Kemp's Ridley's are known to do. Watch this space.
