It is. I grew up in a church that didn't allow TVs. So everyone prided themselves in being more spiritual than "the church down the road" that did allow TVs.
I didn't even realize what a mess it was until I was in my mid-twenties. Now that stuff is hilarious to me.

To be fair my mom watches three kids and the conservative Christian couple pays her well. She gets paid $300 a week for 18 hours or less.

I love Nat but it's painful to see how sweet and supportive he is all while he is getting bullied by a certain fandom.
