The constant chipping away of these crucial resources can only lead to the eventual collapse of the industry. Without taking care of our freelance workforce, this already fragile structure and how we generate culture, there will not be an arts and culture sector in Scotland.

RIP IT OFF DAY ONE Check out some pics from day one out of two of Rip it Off which took place in Aberdeen. It was a full-on day of devising movement and writing text as participants, lead by Sally Charlton, dissected the story of Macbeth and the various forms adaption can take.

William is a multidisciplinary director and dramaturg of new writing. The things he makes are visceral, contemporary and world-based. You can check out boilingfrogs’ latest production ‘Love Is...’ at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe from August 13th-18th at Bedlam Theatre.

I’M WORKING IN THE INDUSTRY William Byam Shaw William was a participant of our most recent National Ensemble in 2020. Since last working with Scottish Youth Theatre, William has graduated with an MA in Directing at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
