Cool, @duolingo does streaks by timezone. So I flew to NZ and it's tomorrow from NY. Lost my streak even tho I used it before takeoff and after landing. 🤬

@Starlink responded to my support ticket and then promptly closed it. Upshot is that I should just get new hardware (on a new plan), but the new hardware would be "rented" @ $0, returnable if I cancelled my sub. Thus, the old hardware would just get thrown in the trash;
