Scotland W65s started the Euro campaign with a narrow victory 2-1 over Wales. A first quarter goal by Lee Edmonds Ward and a last quarter goal by Pat Lindsay secured the victory. Scotland played a lot of slick passing hockey and now look forward to tomorrows match v Netherlands.

The results may not reflect it but the 45s went toe-to-toe with every nation this weekend despite the scorelines. They served up some exciting, attacking hockey for all to enjoy. 📸 @Mike3Legs

An award of a disputed penalty corner 8 minutes from time proved the difference, Ireland scoring from a tight angle.

The hosts then stepped up the pressure but couldn't find the net. A draw would've been a fair reflection of the match but the luck of the Irish isn't a phrase for nothing!

Scotland equalised in Q3 when they took a quick free hit outside the circle round its way to Katie Francis who deflected it into the top corner.

The teams went at it from the start in a very physical contest. Euro champs Ireland got the breakthrough in Q2 with a deflection after a save from Scotland's keeper.

W45 v Ireland Feisty. Probably a good word to still up the final match of the weekend, with both sides enjoying dominating periods.
