From a European perspective, the story of Alex Salmond is very interesting to understand the history of the rise in the movement for Scotland's self-determination and this beautiful article is definitely worth a read.
Alex Salmond may be remembered for his schism with the SNP. But if there’s an Edinburgh memorial service the streets will be thronged in tribute to an eternal optimist, gifted politician who chose Edinburgh not London & man who put indy forever on the map
