Happy 97th birthday Jim Lovell. Flew in space four times, went to the Moon twice and survived the explosion on Apollo 13.

When you see that “cloud” seeming to “settle” fast, realize it isn’t a cloud and it isn’t settling. It is a supersonic sandblasting spray flying ballistically away from the camera at 2-3 kilometers per second, crossing the horizon and impacting many kilometers across the Moon.

The peculiar career of Jonny Kim, who was awarded a Silver Star for rescuing multiple wounded Iraqi soldiers as a Navy SEAL. He later got a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics, became Doctor of Medicine, and then joined NASA as an astronaut in 2017.

Nearing the end of our Contact Forces unit. This is a pretty impressive list of the big ideas explored over the past couple of months.

There are some days when a middle school teacher ought to be paid just a little more….like combat pay.

A 13,000-ton molasses storage tank burst 106 years ago today, flooding the North End at 35 MPH with a 40-foot wave of molasses, killing 21 and injuring 150. Residents in the North End for decades afterwards claimed that the area smelled of molasses on hot summer days.

I was out of school yesterday. Today, I found corn in my sink. What the heck happens in my lab when I’m not here?

Each week I do "Song of the Day" with my 7th grade homeroom. It's 1 song per day, all connected with a theme. The kids have to figure out the theme. Next week the songs are: “Cold as Ice,” “Disco Inferno,” “Do You Want To Build a Snowman?” “Burning Love” What's the theme?

I have been showing my 8th graders this video for years. It is so interesting, so clear, it really captures their attention. Thank you @StatedClearly
