Kathaleen was my first mentor and helped shape me into the science teacher I became. I credit my student centered classroom to learning from her! @STANYSorg #newestfellow Congratulations for this most deserved award.

Now is the time to really explore what worked to deepen understanding, aid in sense making, or facilitate communication and collaboration…and what was a just a Band-Aid that needs to be ripped off and thrown away! Just because it “worked” doesn’t mean it has to stay!.

I’ve ditched the staff handbook and created a Hub for this year! Each cell is hyperlinked to the specified document. It’s still a work in progress🤗 #LeadLAP #BoldSchool #gcessuperheroes

The best PD I’ve been in or given has put teachers as students before they reflect as teachers, then time to practice and reflect some more! Never and one-and-done. so true.

Teachers should elicit, value, and leverage students’ ways of communicating when observing and making sense of phenomena, rather than front-loading scientific vocabulary. #NGSSChat #NGSS
