So remember like 3+ years ago I found this giant earthworm? Well - here's a giant caeclian! A legless amphibian which is thought to eat the giant earthworms here in the Ecuadorian cloud forest. Blind and slimy they traverse the soils. WildSumaco Lodge, Ecuador
I am so happy we found this giant earthworm in the cloud forest. They come out pretty commonly during the heavy rains of tje rainy season.

Found this beautiful moth sitting up at 10,000ft at the Cuicocha Lake near Cotacachi, Ecuador. About 5 of these guys were all over the plant. Many tiger moths and kin store alkaloids that they get from their host plant. I wonder if something related to that is going on here
