The incredible opening shot from DEAD END in 1937. Combines miniature effects, perspective and clever editing.

Bad Bunny used Spike Lee’s signature "double dolly" shot last night- a filmmaking technique where both the actor & the camera are placed on the same moving dolly. It’s just one example of the attention to detail Benito gave his performance last night. It was sheer cinema. 🇵🇷

It’s so sad that’s it’s 100% timely and relevant today too 😩

One of my favourite photos of all time as 26yr old ORSON WELLES arrives at the New York premiere of the Film he’d just directed, starred in & co-written ‘Citizen Kane' (1941).

This SNL skit about a MAGA mom slowly realizing she made a mistake supporting Trump—and her kids absolutely losing their shit over it—is so real to me. Especially the dad saying they should give her more grace because she has an old laptop that gets a different internet than you

If you haven’t seen this bit from Saturday Night Live from last night yet, you absolutely have to. It’s hilarious and at the same time extremely therapeutic. Even if it’s not real. “DO YOU WANT THIS TO BE REAL?”

Rose Byrne had no actors on actors, roundtables, promos, grassroots campaign, a lone nominee for her cast and film, no best picture boost, a tiny budget, no nepo baby or overdue narrative yet she still managed to get recognised for every precursor and the Oscars. Her performance

RAISING ARIZONA [1987] Directed by Joel & Ethan Coen I absolutely love this early Coen Bros movie, I think it's perfect, but I almost never hear it brought up. I could gush about this movie for quite a while.

We agree about the top 4 but I’ve seen OBAA four times now & am starting to think it’s #1
Ranking Paul Thomas Anderson’s filmography has always been tricky but One Battle After Another made it even trickier. I’m not sure anything will ever top There Will Be Blood. But I think OBAA is in contention with Boogie Nights & The Master for Paul’s second best film ever.
