Wet windshield weather how we've missed you! Please share your regular old rainy day photos--droplets on leaves or windowpanes, puddles, rainwater flowing into storm drains, or even anything problematic you encounter. Post them here or email us: info@savethesound.org.

The North Branford Land Conservation Trust recently acquired 37.5 acres of open space, protecting vital woodlands near Lake Gaillard—a key drinking water source. Their commitment is a testament to the power of land trusts in preserving our natural resources for future generations

With the president-elect pledging to double down on fossil fuels, it's clear that tackling climate change will require strong leadership from states like Connecticut. It’s up to us to push for a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient energy future. https://t.co/uUflbYyZPy

Suffolk County . . . you've waited for this for a long time. Clean water is on the ballot today. Be sure to flip your ballot, Vote Yes on Prop 2, and protect Suffolk County's water for generations to come.

Happy Halloween from the Save the Sound staff! We had costumes and trick-or-treating in both offices, and here's the New Haven crew's costumes. See if you can spot the eel grass!

On Nov. 1, they sleep in. The six-month Unified Water Study season ended on Thursday, and our crew thanks our 26 partner groups for all the early mornings on the water and everything else involved in the hard, important work of monitoring our bays and harbors around the Sound.

Thanks to everyone who joined the call for clean water at Monday's rally in Babylon. We heard from environmental champions, the business community, unions, educators, surfers, and one hopeful turtle, all urging Suffolk County voters to flip their ballots & vote yes on Prop 2.

The Eastern Narrows received a B in our recently released 2024 Long Island Sound Report Card. This means that for the 2023 monitoring season, 98% of the open waters of the Sound received a B grade or better. But what about the bays and harbors in the Eastern Narrows? 1/2

We know: * Nitrogen pollution from inadequate septic systems endangers bays & harbors on Long Island. * Prop 2 would enable Suffolk Co. to replace 380k septic systems with nitrogen-reducing technology. * On Nov. 5, Suffolk Co. voters can flip their ballots & vote yes on Prop 2.
