Among the so many memorable moments Rob Reiner and his casts have given us, there will always be this. Thanks β¦@johncusackβ©. In these screwed up times, we need more of this.

If the alleged culprits of the meat pie throw at the Dragons vs Bulldogs game are found to have breached the spectator code of conduct, the NRL should ban them for life. THE TACKLE π https://t.co/oDMUXx0Nt6

I'll have to scan properly one day, but photos will do for now. See the chairman's report the party line on the supposed nessaecity of the JV for survival - "haaaaa we're all gonna die, there'll barely be a stand alone Sydney club left in the comp!!!!" is the basic tone.

Saddened to hear of the passing of Celtic FC legend Dixie Deans. Magnificent player and a real character. He eventually played several seasons with Adelaide City in the NSL, scoring a phenomenal 30 goals in 57 games for them.

There are really no other benefits to membership (by design) so you're basically paying just to vote - something not many people are willing to do, and it's nigh on impossible campaign on the basis of "join now so you can vote for me in 3 years"

Technically, yes. Practically, St George DRLFC and Leagues Club do all they can to discourage membership and after nearly losing an boards seats to R2K candidates 15 years ago changed they the by-laws so that one must be a member for 3 years before voting.
@steele_sports @dwatsonhayes Can Dragons football club members vote on board ?

Remember how much argumentation in favour of mergers was how it would allow clubs to survive in some form. But now the pro merger rhetoric is "they must be ground into dust, wiped off the face of the earth"
No. Just, no. Buy 100% or nothing. Balmain still has 10%. Again, there should be no more affliation with anything Magpies & Balmain. None. Zilch. Both organisations/clubs must piss right off for the @WestsTigers to finally get the administrative stability they desperately need.

Turns out it just doesn't work well, who could have ever imagined?

So maybe it's not down to the actions of factions or individuals but just but just the inherent nature of geographically divided clubs that make no sense lacking a coherent identity and core.

Yet St George Illawarra has the opposite - there is no faction looking for the interests of St George (or the Steelers, really) or planning for a stand alone future - quite the opposite they actively work against such.

Regarding "Wests Tigers", people blame infighting and point the fibger at a strident Wests faction for why the club is a basket case, but St George Illawarra have had the same amount of success as WT in the last 25 years - 1 Premiership in an extremely equalised competition.
