According to the American Cancer Society, there are about 400 to 500 rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) cases yearly in the United States. Mainly occurring in children, RMS is slightly more common in boys than in girls. #FactFriday

About 47 people will be diagnosed with sarcoma every day in the U.S. Compared to the most common cancer, breast cancer, where every 14 seconds, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, sarcoma is uncommon. It is the rarest cancer to be diagnosed. #FactFriday

Many already know the two types of sarcomas: soft tissue and bone. But do you know exactly where soft tissue is in the body? As shown below, soft tissue sarcoma forms in muscles, tendons, fat, blood vessels, lymph vessels, nerves, and tissue around joints.

This #factfriday topic is about one of the more common subtypes. Osteosarcoma can be diagnosed at any age, but it is seen primarily in younger people. In 2022, about half of 1,000 people diagnosed with osteosarcoma in the U.S will be children and teens. Reference: @CancerDotNet
