of sudden, he sat up quickly to tickle both of them. All of them laughing on the kitchen floor. Even their old pup, Bo, came into the kitchen to give TJ a welcome home sniff and kiss.

but when TJ showed them it was food, the two of them went nuts after that first bite. Feeling the hug to his leg, TJ began to playfully go to ground, “oh no… I’m being attacked… oh no!” He laid on the floor and pretended to be dead as both kids moved to hug their dad. All ++

The second they were told their kids could try solid foods, he made sure they tried spaghetti and garlic bread first. He cut off the crust of the bread, chopped everything up into bite sized pieces. He let them just wear a diaper and bibs then watched as they looked confused ++

It was about that time, TJ is heard opening the front door. Coming back from his shift on morning patrols then working the library until closing. Sammy’s head looks up the pot with a smile towards his mother before he runs to greet his father. Hugging him, TJ picks him up ++

Sammy nodded. They were told at a young age about some of the hardships their family has faced. Sam’s dislike to be touched was briefly explained though they’ve never had issues with hugging him. Joel’s injuries were explained to some extent. And TJ had explained that their ++

He looks up at her in the hug, closing his eyes when the kiss was given to the top of his head. He smiled at her, nodding. “I know, mama. Papaw says we’re all a tough family, we have each other and protect each other.”

There were times when he’d get home from school and just curl up in her lap to have that comfortable. No words spoken, just wanting to be held. If Charlie wasn’t home then he’d go to TJ or either grandparents. “Whats that mama?” He asked curiously.
﹙ there was never a day where charlie wasn’t reminded how she and t.j clung to their parents when they first met — just like how sammy clings to her. and sometimes sutton. and she loves that he loves to spend time with her. warms ⊹
