All in all 2022 has been a challenging year for me, especially with so many health setbacks, but it hasn’t broken my spirit! If anything it’s made me more determined to keep pushing forward and grow my bookish offerings for readers.

But I’m very much enjoying building the foundations of my author business & the freedom of driving everything the way I want to. I’m constantly learning new things & exploring new avenues, and I’m working on new books, including different genres & for readerships other than YA.

I’ve had moments of feeling proud & elated this year, especially about the release of NIGHT LIGHTS, and also moments of feeling despondent. I’ve tried a number of new things to get my books in front of readers and expand my audience, and finding traction has been tricky and slow.

This little lot has kept me extremely busy – the technical aspects of producing my own books; the hours poured into graphic design; keeping the social media, newsletter, website, and promotional balls in the air; brainstorming of new stories; and, of course, actual writing.

So we’ve reached the end of 2022 and we’re reflecting on the year that was. Here’s what I produced in 2022: a short story for newsletter subscribers, the indie editions of SMALL SPACES and DEEP WATER (DW coming to stores early Feb), and a whole brand new novel, NIGHT LIGHTS.
