The Sands Leisure Centre set to reopen. @SandsCentre in Carlisle will be reopening to leisure customers as normal tomorrow (Tuesday, 4 February). The centre has been closed since Friday 24 January after Storm Éowyn damaged the temporary canopy installed as part of the RAAC

Work to remove the RAAC panels from The @SandsCentre auditorium roof has taken another step forward, with the help of a 130-tonne crane working at a height of 14 metres above ground level. A secure enclosure is being created to keep the building watertight for when the panels
