Today, I have sent letters to the @RCSLT and @The_HCPC regarding my conscientious objection to the #AssistedDying Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill & the role that would be expected of speech therapists & other AHPs. My letter to the RCSLT is here:

I’ve pointed this out repeatedly. I once spent an hour searching a large hospital for a bendy plastic straw so that a patient unable to sit up (spinal issues) could drink. In the end, her family went to Poundland and bought some.
I can't drink without plastic straws. For years I've bought clear ones online (look a bit nicer than kids' ones). Since the straw ban they've got more expensive and now they've disappeared.If your environmentalism only affects disabled people, it's not as progressive as you think.

80yr old choked to death as staff thought “DNR” (DNACPR) covered choking. It’s one of the things I include in my dysphagia training. DNACPR ≠ allow choking to death. There’s a difference between choking and a cardiac arrest.
