Only 15% of Danish children are seropositive for Helicobacter pylori, but infection is positively associated with cardiometabolic risk factors - in contrast to our hypothesis. First preprint from Sigri Kløve and for me as last author, with @Metabolcenter

And in Danish children, individuals with Hp seropositivity are more likely to be hyperglycemic. Preprints to come soon!.

The answer to the question is a resounding NO! Sigri show that early life Hp infection in mice worsen metabolic outcome on a high fat diet, perturbing the distal gut microbiome likely through low grade inflammation.

This was a long time coming! We find that antibiotic tolerance precedes resistance in cystic fibrosis chronic infections - but as always, nature is messy: Only for some drugs and clone types with @AshleighGriffi6 @GhoulMelanie @rasmusmarvig @LarsJelsbak.
