Both series are great and worth your time, although if gal gun is too off-putting, then just go with Gal guardians. You won't be missing too much context doing that.

If you are not willing to put that aside you can see the same charming dialogue and story in gal guardians, with metriodvania gameplay. While you wont understand all aspects of the game, its still a good time.

That being said, what you get putting all the weird stuff behind is a charmingly written romantic story, fun arcade like gameplay, and a somewhat underrated soundtrack. It is a big ask to put all the weird stuff aside, but if you can I actually think the series is pretty good

Ladies and gentlemen and everyone inbetween, allow me to share my 2 cents on this series to help you make a more informed decision. I have played both series and they are both fun in there own right. With Gal Gun it is very off-putting and I do understand not wanting to try it.

As someone who has played every single Xenoblade game, Xenoblade 3 is by far the worst game at explaining its world and lore. So i don't blame people thinking the game is complicated.
