Just left Governor Kim Reynolds’ #ConditionOfTheState address. I have a few thoughts:

Iowa’s budget surplus exists because of federal funds from the federal American Rescue Plan Act, not because of Governor Reynolds’ policies.

The Governor’s attack on workers’ rights and collective bargaining is shameful. It’s not “hysteria”—she’d know that if she ever visited a picket line.

Make no mistake: this Governor and her allies in the legislature are a direct threat to a woman’s right to choose.

Governor Kim “Build the Wall” Reynolds using an anecdote about tearing down a literal wall to get work done is really rich.

Kim Reynolds is not a unifier. She’s intent on dividing Iowans along ideological lines, punching down on anyone who dares to question her. This Governor has failed to lead.

@SamiScheetz Crazy thought here for @KimReynoldsIA - maybe if we just take the surplus that the FEDERAL GOVT GAVE US and use it to pay teachers what they are worth, fund school systems, and support teachers instead of attacking them…. Maybe we won’t have to pay for private education.
