CUPE Saskatchewan proudly participates in Back to Batoche, and has for many years. This year we sponsored the movie night, made hundreds of bags of popcorn, gave away lots of resources, and handed out swag.

Free BBQ and swim day co-hosted with Locals 21 and 7 (City of Regina workers) as well as Local 1594 (Regina Public Library workers). We wrapped up before the rain arrived, and that’s all ya can ask for. 🙏

Nice day for a BBQ, co-hosted with CUPE Local 1975 at the University of Saskatchewan. Thank-you to all the volunteers, and it was the CUPE SaskatcheVAN’s first official BBQ. 🚐

We joined the parade to celebrate the Town of Nipawin’s 100th birthday on the weekend. CUPE has hundreds of members that live in and around Nipawin — and many came out to volunteer! . Our prize wheel raised over $370 for the Nipawin Early Learning Centre.

Scott Moe's healthcare crisis is out of control, and Saskatchewan's rural residents are paying the biggest price. Recruiting people into a broken system will never work. The retention emergency must be fixed. Pay workers more & treat them with respect.

There is one person who could decide, today, to give healthcare workers a real raise. That person’s name is Scott Moe.

While bargaining was taking place inside, we were outside calling on Scott Moe and his bargaining agent to get a fair deal done now. Healthcare workers have gone over 3 years without a raise during a cost of living crisis. The result has been a staffing and retention emergency.

As SK’s community union, we dedicate many months of the year to outreach. BBQs, parades, Pride celebrations, pow wows, festivals. We think it’s important to connect with the people who use the services CUPE members deliver every day. That outreach just got a lot more stylish!

Our members live and work in every corner of this province and we see firsthand how wildfires are impacting families and communities. This donation is just one step—we will continue to push for long-term support and resources for those affected.

Our community BBQ at Saskatoon City Hall is about to begin! CUPE’s municipal and library workers in Saskatoon are co-hosting. They even splurged and got cheese for the burgers. With close to 2,000 people expected — that’s a lot of cheese!

Pride is political, and may it always be. Scott Moe is banned from Pride, and may he always be.

My favourite time of year! Happy Pride to all the gay dogs and dog allies out there.

Big thank you to all the members of CUPE Local 4195 — Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division — who volunteered at our joint community BBQ this evening in Prince Albert. And I have to give a shout out to Matt and JR who are doing their best impressions of a supervisor!

For weeks, Premier Dithers refused to implement policies that support SK & Cdn workers and products. Eventually, he was forced to do so. Then, during a state of emergency, secretly reversed those policies to appease his US corporate friends and funders.

Prince Albert Pride was another success, a little rain but no complaints about that! Thanks to the organizers, volunteers, and many CUPE members for all the hard work.
