This last match picture of Italy in WCs reminds what a colorful and eventful career Luis Suarez has had in WCs. Peak entertainer with both his footballing skills as well as his antics. Remember his antics vs Ghana, 2010? https://t.co/N4d7GP4N4X

@SamRoy84 Unfortunately our 2 main weapons hardik & axar wasn't part of 23wc. They played a massive role in 24,25,26 icc tournament wins.

Jarrod's & Harmy's video on TalkSport on iconic duos made me remember: Ind were a great ODI team since late 2017 (KulCha introduction novelty) but IMO only became an all-time great ODI team just a few months before & during WC 2023. Their No. 4 & 5 issue finally getting solved.

Cooper here mentions slight tweaks he made in his game over the break, one very evident was his backlift while playing spinners. It used to be bat down, but he keeps a high backlift now, staying nice and still.

Test cricket in the 1990s was more enjoyable than the 2000s in terms of quality of cricket.
WINDIES WEDNESDAY!! 🌴🏏Bodyline 1990s style! Justin Langer, David Boon and Steve Waugh cop a brutal working over from @irbishi @ambrose_curtly and @CuddyWalsh during the 4th Test at Adelaide Oval in January 1993 🔥🔥🔥

@Fancricket12 Sad to hear. Such a fall from lofty heights (missing 3 consecutive football WCs). In a country where they used to say, be a footballer or catholic Priest. At a time where other Italian Sports (Summer & Winter Olympics) are booming. I used to worship 90s & 00s Italian footballers.

Arrey, haven't seen them at the WC since 2014. From watching Italy miss out on penalties in the 1994 WC final - R Baggio - to winning via penalties in 2006 and not entering the 2026 WC via penalties!

Sport as the greatest art form (subjective viewpoint). Speaking from personal viewpoint as a sports nut, sports romantic, sports philosopher. Where opposition is trying to deny you, to take this to this level: still makes me want to dance with joy. https://t.co/utDEwVC5mW
🇧🇷 Brazil 1970. The famous team that had 𝗙𝗜𝗩𝗘 No.10s into the same team. And you wonder why they were able to keep the ball like this... ▪️ Pelé ▪️ Tostão ▪️ Rivellino ▪️ Gerson ▪️ Jairzinho https://t.co/JLJjgcDfhu

Francesco Totti in his autobiography Un Capitano 🗣️ “Sacchi’s Milan is the most exciting team I’ve ever seen, the only one which I fantasized about playing in. That Milan team is the only Italian team for which I was enthusiastic apart from Roma.”

Wow, Baggio still looks like God. My non-sporty sporty take : Many Italian footballers of 90s and 00s better looking than Hollywood heroes. I used to worship them. So talented and so good looking.

In 2010 Baggio took over as the President of the technical sector In 2013 he resigned stating: “I haven’t been allowed to fulfil the role I was given, I’m not willing to move on. My 900-page report, presented in November 2011, remained a dead letter, & I draw the consequences.”

@JohnSmithmfaz @kabi4057 Buttler starts slowly and then makes up for it. Post 2024, with deeper batting line-ups and impact subs, teams can't afford that. GT still can given they have somewhat shallow batting line-up. But it puts GT at a competitive disadvantage compared to others.

@imRohit_SN Rate of improvement and evolution of women's batting is much more than bowling. Really need the 5th player outside the circle in white ball (last 10 overs ODIs and last 14 overs T20Is).

Just a reminder - Baggio had the plan for change and they fired him instead A 3rd missed World Cup won’t make the dinosaurs in the FIGC change their minds
