PostOS is officially out.
I've put a lot of hours into building PostOS into something I think will genuinely help a lot of freelance editors, looking to scale their business.
Let me just show you a quick tour and a fraction of what it can do 👇🏻
*Inhale*
I’m gonna say it.
New streamers. If you spend 8-10 hours every day on your ass playing video games, you’re not “grinding” anything.
It’s not 2018 and you’re not the next Ninja.
Treat this game smart. Think of your career beyond just streaming.
Just made some pretty cool Destiny 2 alerts for Twitch and Mixer streamers for our 12 Days of Designs.
I'll be making these available for FREE on my Discord at the end of the 12 Days.
Let me know your thoughts,
@Bungie
😉
We're still live at
I just made some assets for
@WatchMixer
streamers and Partners to announce where you're going to be streaming next.
Download the overlay here and follow the steps in this video. More assets and help to come soon.

I wanted to make a graphic that sums up the differences between Twitch & YouTube.
Looking mostly at the daily streaming model, and how it compares to YouTube’s content ecosystem model.
Streaming on YouTube with INTENT to create other forms of content.
Been wanting to make a small, bite size version of what I talk a lot about on stream for a while.
I decided to put together a series of infographics that summarise some of the best ways to grow on Twitch.
While this isn't everything I talk about, it's a good starting point.
Two years ago today I made my first appearance on the Alpha Gaming channel, and shot my shot with
@HarrisHeller
to become his video editor.
I took a risk, burnt my boats and left my new job to pursue something I was passionate about.
I'm very very happy I did.
It pains me to see new streamers with Follower Only Mode on in their chat. It does more harm to your channel than good.
I've had times where I wanna raid small streamers with 90-130 viewers and they have it turned on. So, a small piece of advice from me...
👏Turn👏it👏off
My heart is heavy for the Mixer community right now. So I'm going to help.
Tomorrow I'm going to start making designs, alerts and any additional elements that will help
@WatchMixer
Partners and streamers moving to Twitch, Facebook or YouTube.
Content creators get so hung up on production value and quality.
Getting the right camera, lens or microphone, they forget about the most important part of the video.
The story.
No one watches a YouTuber or streamer because of the camera they use.
If Twitch shut down tomorrow, because of this DMCA stuff, would you be ready?
Are you making videos? Are you on TikTok? Are you doing more than just streaming for 8 hours a day.
If Twitch went bust tomorrow, would you be prepared?
If not, it's time to start.
Dear TikTok/Short form creators.
Put the damn lavalier mic on your lapel where it’s supposed to be and stop waving it around in front of the camera.
Same goes for your ear bud microphone.
Stop it.
Kindly signed,
Every audio recordist/engineer ever.
One thing creators need to do is to stop idolising "the grind".
It's such a toxic mentality that does only damage in the long run. Imo, there's nothing worse.
You are absolutely able to make a career and not hurt yourself in the process.
I've been thinking about my health a lot lately, and I want to improve it.
So, I'm going to spend the next 12 months working on getting healthier.
I've signed up for some meal plans, and I'm gonna exercise a lot more.
I would love it if you guys kept me accountable to this
YouTube doesn't need to do anything to it's live stream features to be a competitor in the market.
YouTube is a VOD first platform that allows creators to go live and connect with their community.
Twitch is built on a kingmaker system. The ones at the top, stay at the top.
So -
@StreamCharts
has now added YouTube Live data to their service... and if this is accurate, it means YouTube's live average viewership is about 47% larger than Twitch's.
And that's coming from about 90% fewer channels.
#StreamerNews
#TOSgg
I don't know any other editor that will stay up until the early hours of the morning editing two videos to go up the next day and hit the deadline.
I love my job.
Goodnight everyone 😴
To all of those streamers chasing Twitch Partner, as one myself, I can confidently say it's the single, most overrated title on social media.
If your brand revolves around a checkmark, it's weak.
Build a solid brand without one, and you won't ever need it.
I've seen a few Twitch people complain about Mixer people getting Partnerships before them.
Mixer streamers worked hard for their Partnerships on Mixer, and fully deserve what they worked hard for, regardless of the platform.
So, to all you salty people...
I've made an emote for people to show their love for
@WatchMixer
streamers moving to Twitch.
TwixerLove is an emote that any Mixer or Twitch streamer can add to their channel to show their support of each other and the joining of communities.

I know not everyone that follows me will really appreciate this, but…
The Witch Queen campaign in Destiny 2 is the most fun I’ve had in a video game for a long time.
Send tweet.
Your first YouTube video is and will be trash.
Get over it. Get it done.
Pushing through that first video builds work ethic, and will make your other videos stronger and better.
Cue that "The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step" quote.
I get a lot of questions around editing, and the most common one I get is
"What are J and L cuts???"
So, I decided to make this handy little graphic to hopefully help you guys out there to understand what they are.
Save it. Share it. Lemme know if you wanna see more of these!
Ways to avoid a DMCA strike:
1. Don't play copyrighted music on stream
2. Mute in-game music if you don't know if it's safe or not
3. Use StreamBeats
4. Sacrifice your first born to Warner Music Group
5. Don't stream
One of those seems a bit extreme, but not sure which one...
Re-sharing one of the more popular infographics I've made.
In this thread, I'm going to talk about the differences between daily streaming on Twitch and why creators need to utilise an ecosystem like YouTube to be sustainable...
Can I talk about a real personal goal real quick?
In the next 5 years, I want to be making stuff so good that every large YouTuber knows my name, and knows what I can do.
I’m gonna take my time and be the best I can be.
Alright, yesterday I was pissed, so I'm gonna post my PERSONAL recommendations for:
✂️ Video Editing Software
🎵 Music services
🖌 Graphic Design Software
📺 YouTube Tools
Free, paid and subscription based. All in a single thread.
(psst RTs are appreciated 👍🏻)
Let's go...
Keep streaming. Keep doing what you love. But don’t use the word “grind” and think it means you’re working hard when you can do more.
Make relatable content. Expand your potential. Turn it into a business. There’s more to it than just Twitch.
YouTuber Tip: If you haven't uploaded a video for a while - don't film a video apologising and explaining why.
Because the time it took you to film, edit and post that apology video, you could've made a video that would be worth more to your audience 👍🏻
Always think value.
When YouTube lowers the monetisation threshold next year, I'm gonna stop recommending Twitch for streaming.
For now, stay on Twitch - but start growing a YouTube channel. Stream, make videos and post shorts.
Start building it up, and be prepared to move when the time comes.
"Can we download a template?" No.
"Can we get a download XYZ?" No.
"How do I do..." Use Google.
Please stop expecting creators to hold your hand through EVERYTHING. Show some competence.
I'm gonna say this once again.
Start building a ✨content ecosystem ✨
Find ways to produce 80% of your content with 20% of your effort.
Use live streams to produce videos. Clip moments and convert them to Short/TikToks.
Create a content plan & strategy, then actually DO it.
Remember why you started. Remember why you do this.
It’s going to be hard sometimes. You’re gonna wanna give up. But keep fighting.
Keep moving forward.
Today marks a year since the first video I edited for
@HarrisHeller
and the Alpha Gaming channel was uploaded.
It started as a huge risk and quickly became one of the best choices I've ever made.
It's truly been an honour and pleasure to be a part of this community 💜
Trying this again... Here is the new logo.
I felt super held back by my old logo and wanted something to help progress my brand forward.
For me, it means to go beyond and do more. To reach new heights and to explore new horizons.
To always move forward and do better.
Get ready for some tough love, as I'm gonna say something some of you might not wanna hear.
Don't blame an algorithm if you're not getting views.
Your content might just suck.
If something is not working, then change it. Treat it like a business if you want to succeed at it.
Not read any replies yet but I want to address something.
If you enjoy streaming and it’s hobby. Ignore me. Carry on. If it makes you happy who cares.
But, if you complain about not getting any viewers after a 10 hour stream and nothing else, then we have an issue.
I’m tempted to personally assist the process for Twitch streamers to transition to YouTube if they want to.
From figuring out content strategies to workflows for producing long and short form without the need for heavy editing/production time.
Legit considering this.
This app is incredible. Just saved me hours worth of work by trimming all the dead air from the video file.
Known about it for a while but a shoutout to
@AJRafferty
for reminding me about it the other day.
On the trial right now but definitely picking this up.
Hot take; If you are going to college or university for a creative course, like art or media, you're wasting both time and money.
Getting a degree is only important if you're a lawyer, a doctor, or something similar.
Agree or disagree?
Big thanks to
@HarrisHeller
, was not expecting this. Hope you’re all having a fantastic day, this is definitely going to drive me to make 2020 the best year possible.
Near the launch of SLOBS,
@streamlabs
reached out to us about using the OBS name. We kindly asked them not to. They did so anyway and followed up by filing a trademark
We’ve tried to sort this out in private and they have been uncooperative at every turn
As the sun sets on one adventure. It rises with another.
Heading home to start my own journey in full time content creation.
Gonna take the rest of December to recharge, and then let the rubber hit the road in January.
Time to get to work.
Do you feel like making videos is a struggle? Just managing everything seems like hard work?
Well, that's the reason I made the Creator Dashboard. A fully customised hub for all creators.
Here are few things that the Creator Dashboard can do to help you
I'm not gonna censor myself because some say you should "stay out of politics".
What happened today is more than embarrassment.
It's message was spat into the faces of every non-white person in the world.
Humanity is capable of so much more, and you reduce yourselves to this.
30K is a lot of people.
Thank you all for supporting my dream.
I hope what I do and the videos I make help you achieve yours.
Id love to be able to show 13 year old Sam this picture. It’d blow his mind.
❤️

Bring on 2020...
There's a level of irony here. I move to the states and in the same week I'm about to become an Uncle...
I am now officially Uncle Sam. You're welcome America.
If you have "positivity and good vibes" in your Twitter bio, and you feel the need to judge others because they're successful and you're not, then I recommend you rethink your bio...
There is never an excuse to not be humble.
Having the confidence to know you're great at what you do, but the humility to support others and bring them up is power.
Bringing others down is a sign of weakness. Never forget where you've come from and be the example for others.
Nothing has made me prouder as a content creator than seeing my community grow, see you all make friends, talk about your hopes, fears and dreams.
It's been one of my goals to have something like this for the longest time.
Thank you all for being a part of it.
I did it for charity. I did it for charity. I did it for charity. I did it for charity. I did it for charity. I did it for charity. I did it for charity. I did it for charity. I did it for charity. I did it for charity. I did it for charity.
Been feeling nostalgic tonight. Thinking of the early days of streaming with
@just_8ight
This time last year, I was in crippling debt. I had to get a job to try and survive. And now...
Always be humble, and remember where you started from. Keep moving forward. Always.
So I thought I'd let you guys know here and now.
This is real. I'm excited. I'm nervous... but mostly excited.
It’s gonna take time, and I hope you guys are with me for the journey.
❤️ - Sam
❤️Thank you for 50,000 Subscribers❤️
I really started pushing more content to my channel nearly a year ago, and while it wasn't as consistent as I'd like, I'm very proud of this.
Thank you guys for all your support, comments, and love over the past year.
100K here we come🤟🏻
Your content is probably good, but it can be better.
Lighting. Sound. Camera. Story. Editing.
Don’t get complacent. Push to be the best you can be, bit by bit.
You don’t need to figure it all out right now, just improve over time.
Use 2023 to be best you can be ❤️
Anyone else decide to go to bed early because they’re super exhausted, and then decide to spend 3 hours on their phone and become wide awake and can’t fall asleep after?
It’s one of those nights for me.
🗣️ Calling all creators! 🗣️
Stuck for ideas? Want to find your creator niche? Establish your channel?
@SamCWoodhall
has got your back with these video ideas ✅ →
Anyone else feel like they have to watch their back on Twitch lately? Or is it just me?
It feels like Twitch is making some very interesting and, quite frankly frightening, decisions as of late.
If I'm being truthful, I think the only thing keeping me there is my community...
It's been 2 years since I started streaming on Twitch, and boy things have changed.
I owe a lot to
@HarrisHeller
for where I am now and the opportunities I've gained, as well as my own incredible community.
I'm looking forward to really taking things to the next level in 2021.
Does anyone feel embarrassed to be a Twitch streamer right now?
With creators from other platforms seeing the changes Twitch are doing, it's making me "yikes" real bad.
As a reminder to those in this content creation game, this is a friendly reminder that this isn't a get rich quick scheme.
This shit requires hard work, patience, persistence and passion for what you do. You won't get anywhere playing video games all day, despite what you see
If you want a career in content creation and you use an ad blocker on YouTube/Twitch, then I hope you step on a Lego brick.
Just a tiny Lego brick. But a Lego brick nonetheless.
I've always been an advocate of acknowledging ones own mental health, so I've decided I'm going to be taking a short break from streaming until the New Year.
I've not had a break for a while, and right now I feel like I'm pushing myself to just click the start streaming button.
