Thinking of the hundreds of thousands men and women from Britain and so many countries who served in Asia and the Pacific. I had the privilege of meeting veterans who survived the Japan POW camps as a child. Their sacrifice and courage will always be remembered.
Today, on VJ Day, we honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served. Their bravery secured peace for generations to come, and their legacy lives on in the freedoms we enjoy today.
