Riding into orbit 👩‍🚀 On June 18, 1983—42 years ago today—astronaut Sally Ride became the first American woman to travel to space. Ride and her crewmates deployed two satellites and conducted scientific research during their six days in orbit aboard space shuttle Challenger.

Sally Ride students will have an opportunity to talk with astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS) this Dec. 16-20 in a special school-wide event.   In partnership with ARISS (Amateur Radio on the ISS) students will get to interview an astronaut.  More info coming!!!
