I stumbled upon an old @minakimes blog post about her dad & it helped me understand why I wasn’t excited about 2024 Saints football when I’m ALWAYS excited about Saints football. My really personal Saints season preview. ‘Parkinson’s, Mom, and Keeping the Faith for the 2024

I’m excited for MVS to sign with Saints in November and immediately become good again.
The #Seahawks released veteran WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, per source.

This roster is vastly superior to 14-15. Those teams had UDFAs playing a bunch on defense.
Drew would take this team to the playoffs. That 2015 roster was insanely depleted and he won 7. There's some legit pieces on offense here that mid-career Drew would cook with. I'm not sure it's the right build for late-stage Drew.

Make the fucking call Loomis. Solve the Saints punter issue.
The #49ers cuts include veteran WRs Robbie Chosen, Russell Gage, Isaiah Hodgins and Malik Turner, as well as P Thomas Morstead.

Probably, my fear with Rattler is his downfall will be mostly his inability to avoid sacks, and most fans don’t view sacks as the QBs fault, so if/when he gets benched it will be VERY contentious.
Look, they're both going to play, and how it works out on the field will be what matters. That said, I am quite sure that if you told Mickey Loomis or Kellen Moore on draft day that Tyler Shough would not beat out Spencer Rattler in training camp, they would not have drafted him.

The Saints been in love with this dude since they were watching Foskey’s college tape. Lolz.
#Cowboys 5th Round O Lineman Asim Richards is a pretty solid get, great lower body strength, good movement, Left Tackle and guard, a few coaching points away from being really good. Sometimes is an ugly winner but has won vs good competition. Gave Foskey fits

Mickey trading with the team that employs his son. I’m going to drink @HardhideWhiskey dry by Halloween.

You can’t do cap gymnastics AND have make fewest draft picks since 2010. That’s simply not a workable model. They just did FIRE drafting for 2016-17.
@SaintsForecast It is the combination of those two things. If you are going to do the cap gymnastics they did, you are going to lack depth, so you have to draft well. They drafted poorly, traded picks so they didn't get volume, AND did the cap stuff which led to an untalented no depth roster.

Coaches ain’t ever gonna do a cut player dirty unless said player is absolutely a cancer.
Brandon Staley on what went into cutting Isaiah Foskey: "That's a better question for Kellen and Mickey. I think Isaiah did a really good job for us when he was here, played really hard. There's a lot of football in front of him." #Saints.

He’s a Loomis puppet but also cutting guys Loomis overruled the previous staff to draft. It’s all very confusing.
I’ll say this about Kellen Moorehe’s come out cutting more dead weight than I thought he would as a 1st time HC. He’s been ripping the bandaid off by cutting guys that should be cut regardless of draft status or name.

It’s actually WORSE because they traded up for Haener and Saldiveri.
Saints 2023 draft class: .- 1.29: Bryan Bresee . starter.- 2.40: Isaiah Foskey . waived.- 3.71: Kendre Miller . RB2.- 4.103: Nick Saldiveri . season-ending IR.- 4.127: Jake Haener . waived.- 5.146: Jordan Howden . ???.- 6.195: A.T. Perry . waived (2024). Big oof.
