America is a frontier civilization. The new world and expanding frontier was a hammer that forged European settlers into Americans. The idea that someone can come here on a visa and metro Atlanta/NYC/SF will make them more American is idiotic. The frontier made us exceptional.

If American lawmakers were serious about stewarding the oceans & standing up to China, they would deliver an ultimatum. If environmental groups were serious about protecting the planet, this would be a core focus.
