FRIDAY It’s deja vu this morning. There was some very heavy downpours in some areas last night. Places like Wigan saw up to 10mm of rain fall. These showers will affect the region this morning for a time, but should break up to leave a day of warm sunny spells. Humidity rising

TUESDAY - THURSDAY. Hot couple of a days ahead with bright sunny spells, and occasional gusty winds generated by the heat. Temperatures peaking at 29/ 30°C. ☀️

The chance of thunderstorms on Sunday night is now very slim, so in theory we have no rain forecast for the next 5 days AT LEAST! #hosepipeban incoming I think. 💦 not good for the @manchesterfire and army and other resources tackling the #saddleworthwildfire 🔥.

Although the #heatwave is making temperatures rocket into the 30s, it actually doesn’t feel too bad. We have low dew points and low humidity - at the moment. Next week the humidity will rise and it will feel stuffy and unpleasant... 😭☹️

The smoke from the #Saddleworth #wildfire has created a haze across much of Tameside and Saddleworth, which in turn, is keeping temperatures up and feeling uncomfortable. Shut doors and windows if affected. The firemen are fantastic for fighting this fire 🔥👍

Terrible news of the grass fire at St Chads graveyard. My thanks to @manchesterfire who have worked so hard in tackling fires in #Saddleworth recently. Thinking of all whose loved ones are buried here.

TUESDAY *An interesting forecast* A normal forecast would be me telling you it’s going to be hot and sunny with temperatures touching 30°C and 45° in direct sunlight. However due to the smoke and fire over #Dovestones, the sunshine is hazy and temperatures aren’t as high ☀️

Temperatures have soared today to 29°C which was recorded at 3pm. Spare a thought for the fire crews working in this heat. #heatwave #wildfire
